YOUTH MUSIC EXPANDS EMERGING CREATIVES COMMUNITY SERIES WITH YOUNG GUNS NETWORK PARTNERSHIP

Youth Music has announced its NextGen Community Series for 2024

The first event is in partnership with Young Guns Network and AWAL,

taking place on Tuesday 30 January at Sony Music Entertainment's AWAL

office

The NextGen Community Series offers 18-30 year old emerging creatives

access to some of the biggest music and culture brands, peer networking,

panel discussions and exciting performances

Youth Music, the UK’s leading young people’s music charity, has today

announced its NextGen Community Series for 2024, including new music

industry networking events in partnership with Young Guns Network.

Designed to support emerging creatives UK-wide, this year’s events will reach

Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow. Attendees aged 18-30 will have the chance to

connect with other creatives, take part in panel discussions and watch

performances from peers.

And, new for 2024, a partnership with Young Guns Network will see four

additional networking events take place at offices of some of the biggest music

and culture brands in London. These will include a workshop on artist marketing

with AWAL, best Instagram practice for creatives with Meta and working with

brands, with Levi’s.

Cristina Barone, Youth Music Corporate and Events Manager says: “As we

celebrate Youth Music’s 25th anniversary year, we’re really excited to also grow our

NextGen Community Series, reaching new cities and launching a new

partnership with Young Guns Network. All of this means a more diverse range of

voices are entering and equipped for the music industries, benefitting both

businesses and individuals who might otherwise be excluded.”

Youth Music’s research recently found that 77% of emerging creatives said a lack

of industry connections is a barrier they are currently facing, while pursuing a

career in the music industries .

Young Guns Network was created in 2013 to offer a more diverse, accessible and

updated professional networking experience focused on the 18-30 age group that

would provide them with inspiration, insight and opportunities.

Remi Harris and Sam Potts, Co-Founders of Young Guns Network say:

"We're delighted to be collaborating with Youth Music to bring young professionals into the offices of some of the most exciting music and culture brands. Our partnership with Youth Music goes back several years and we're thrilled that they are helping us continue to bring these events to young people."

Youth Music NextGen is a community of young creatives who aspire to build and

work in the music industries of the future and consists of over 200 Youth Music

NextGen Fund recipients and alumni, people taking part in one of Youth Music’s

500 funded projects and other young creatives who want to be part of a wider

network. The community offers access to development opportunities and grant

funding for those who face barriers because of who they are, where they’re from

or what they’re going through.
